Fire crews are still actively engaged in putting out the fire at Storage World in Middleton after a destructive blaze started on Wednesday evening.

Fire crews are having difficulty extinguishing the blaze that persists in the building's center, as the area is inaccessible and the building is now considered too unstable to enter. Demolition crews were urgently summoned to the building on Friday afternoon after it became too unstable for fire crews to enter and address the fires still growing inside. The demolition company began tearing down the walls of the loading bay area to help open the building up for fire crews to tackle the blaze.

Fire crews expect to spend another night fighting the fire, which has sparked waves of community spirit throughout the town. People are donating packs of water to emergency services and offering support to those impacted by the devastating fire. Middleton is well-known for its exceptional community support during challenging times, which is among the finest attributes of this small town.
Despite the tragic loss of belongings and property in the fire, we are confident that the community spirit will continue to embrace those affected and provide support in the way this town excels at. Aerial footage reveals the devastating damage caused by the tragic blaze as demolition of the building begins.
As we enter the third night of the fire, it remains uncertain how long it will take to completely extinguish it. Meanwhile, steps are already underway, and Rochdale Council is holding meetings about the full demolition of the building. Follow Manchester Today on Facebook, and Instagram.
